Applied for job seekers before being offered furlough

Hi, my daughter was under the impression that she had not got a job as the hotel that she was working for had problems paying wages. She had a zero hours contract. After 2 weeks and no work, she applied for jobseekers allowance as the hotel had said they were closing, rumours were they had gone bankrupt.
Since applying for jobseekers the hotel have been in touch and offered furlough.
she accepted furlough but told them she had applied for jobseekers. She has had a letter saying she is not eligible for jobseekers allowance and has today received p45. Now so confused as to what to do next? Can you advise please? Thanks

She hasnt heard any more yet. Has not had any wages or work but not applied for anything  other than jobseekers which she thought she was just enquiring about when she filled in the form.

Its impossible to advise further really without more info. Get her to call up her manager and check if she'll be receiving furloughed wages, that's the key thing

She has had another wage slip but no pay and has been put down for furlough. She is worried as she has just received  her P45 from the application she made for jobseekers? Not eligible for jobseekers though.

First furlough payments should be received in the next week or so.  The P45 is issued automatically when a JSA claim closes, that is nothing to worry about.  If she doesn't get paid by her employer she probably needs to apply for Universal Credit (UC) rather than JSA as the new JSA is only available to those who satisfy certain National Insurance contribution conditions.  Somebody who has been working on a zero hour contract may not meet those.

thank you. She might stop worrying now. I think she is going to try and phone job centre tomorrow-if anyone answers!
