in Loans
I've just checked my credit score and I have a loan on there which apparently is in default from merligen investments. The only info it gives me is it's a loan and that it was opened on the 16th of march 2018 and that it was updated on the 19th of October 2019. It's only for £59. I dont have a clue what this is? It has no payment history for it. What do I do?

Google says
Merligen Investments collects debts owed to individuals, businesses and organisations including HMRC (for whom they collect unpaid tax and tax credit overpayments).
Does that ring any bells?

If it is a tax debt then it would not show on your credit file like this. HMRC uses private collectors but does not 'sell on' debts. As it is such a small amount my guess, and it is a guess, is that it will be something like a debt accrued at the end of a mobile phone contract, or insurance paid monthly. Although it shows as a loan, that does not necessarily mean in the conventional sense0

Well its stuck there now for another 4 years regardless of what you do, if its not been chased, then i`d let sleeping dogs lie, because even if you paid it back in full, it would not remove the default.
