Hello, forumites. We’re compiling tips on the best time to bag a supermarket grocery delivery slot. What time of day have you noticed new slots being released? Which supermarket is that with?
Thanks for your help.

Just this minute logged onto Asda and got a slot for this Saturday, been checking at all times but I have the pick of days at this precise moment.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. Where I am Asda seem to have them come up in a about 9 -10 am morning - but only about a week in advance, Sainsbury click and collect show up on a Sunday morning but only for the next day and Tue Wed....they never show any later days. Must admit have used this once and was fine. Tesco release at midnight and you que....would be amazed if they don't alter this.
Asda seem the best option, with Sains click and collect next, have a delivery from Morrisons coming....just checked and slot were there. Must admit last online delivery was from them and while first time I used them and things were not plentiful but the use by dates were great and everything was really fresh. Just not clear how to select no substitutes...got one our two items I will never use. If anyone knows would be grateful. Plus there were also showing some slots for next Monday evening they seem to have slots till late now.1 -
Iceland releases slots at 11am but whether you get one, largely depends whether your store is very popular or not.0

Availability has to depend on where you live as that depends on the store that will be dealing with your order and therefore slots they have and when they appear.
In saying that, supermarkets have managed to provide a lot more online delivery services by investing in more vans, staff, etc; so now things are quietening down a bit and more people going back to work (finally), the supermarkets will be fighting more to retain their dominance and also releasing more delivery slots. I've noticed it myself, Asda slots were barely available 3 weeks ahead, now 2 weeks seems the norm with a number of slots free; shows things are easing up a bit.0 -

Time of day seems to vary but early afternoon may be the best time to see slots. Again, could vary with different stores.0 -
I have been getting a regular delivery from Iceland since lockdown started. Slots are released daily at about 11.00 a.m. and I have always been able to get one easily for two days ahead. Maybe our store is one of the quieter ones?
Yesterday I got a Tesco delivery by booking about 6 days ahead.
Slots do seem to be getting easier to book now. But we won't mention Sainsburys!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Local Tesco releasing hourly slots randomly.
Bulk of flexi slots are being released late afternoon/ early evening for the next day.0 -
Got my second slot at Waitrose since lockdown began, for Thursday, last night around 10pm. I think it was just an unpopular time, last slot on a Thursday night.0

I'm not in any shielding group but I've found Iceland easy to get a delivery slot with if I needed one. I will use them again when I need to stock up on bread, frozen vegetables, store cupboard and household items.
I have had click and collect without too much difficulty from Waitrose and very recently Sainsbury's.0
