Just submitted my self assessment 2019/2020 tax return ..Owed 4,000 refund .  How long does a refund take?
Its a a very straightforward refund due to private pension over tax on pension withdrawals and I used HMRCs own figures which they already had.  No other UK income.
How long do refunds normally take ...is their a guideline given COVID19 or is it all fully automated.
I gave  bank account details...do they email you once paid?
Lets assume no security flags !

Going off the numerous other threads about this very subject 2 weeks is about the norm.

Received refunds for clients this week for returns submitted from 6th April so around 2 weeks
