Furlough and sickness cover

Hi,
So I've been furloughed since 6.4.20. Basically my employer has added an addendum clarifying points I queried on their initial furlough letter. The remaining contention is that they are reiterating I should be prepared to immediately return to work should a member of staff be off sick.
Despite back and forth communication, they say I must be prepared to come into work (when and if necessary) and that they will work something out regarding wages but fail to be specific on what that will be. They want the signed furlough letter and addendum returned, which they are saying lack of receipt has delayed their accountant from processing all the company's claim to join the retention scheme.
I have kept copies of correspondence with my concerns regarding this immediate return to work whilst on furlough so am happy to sign the letters and return them(as I don't wish to delay mine or any of my colleagues applications for the scheme). However, I do feel I need to state my concern about my reluctance with this point on the letter. I cannot afford to lose any more finances and an email (from the Manager when the letters/addendum are signed from the owner) saying we will work something out surely means very little??
We have no written contract, the employer refuses to give any of his staff them.
Help please, on what I should add to the letter would be very much appreciated.
Apologies for the lengthy message too, thanks in adavance

You don't need an addendum. If your furlough stops, your normal contract is reinstated.2021 GC £1365.71/ £24000

I thought at present that furlough was not flexible. You were either furloughed or you were not. You can't work the occasional day until flexible furlough is introduced.

Currently you can be furloughed, then go back to work for a short period, then be furloughed again. The only requirement is that you be furloughed for at least 3 weeks at a time. That is about to change on 10th June. After then anyone brought back will not be able to be furloughed again.TELLIT01 said:I thought at present that furlough was not flexible. There is a rule about 10th June. See

So it doesn't apply to the OP, they've already been furloughed.bap98189 said:

From the page referenced by t0rt0ise,
"This means that the final date by which an employer can furlough an employee for the first time will be 10 June, in order for the current 3 week furlough period to be completed by 30 June."0
