They are only going to contact people when they are able to claim. Ergo if the system isn't available, they won't be contacting people telling them they can apply, will they? You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -

"The online service you’ll use to claim is not available yet. HMRC will aim to contact you by mid May 2020, and will make payments by early June 2020."0 -
Anyone been contacted 'yet'? Hopefully they 'start' to send out letters from today...

They will start contacting people this week. Your agent can't do it, and you will need a Government Gateway account.0

Yeap already got it all. Basically from today (4th May) there's a new tool which allows you to see if your eligible where you enter your UTR number AND national insurance number.. after i entered these it told me i was eligible but it doesnt say how much for yet, i then had to enter my government gateway id to login and verify my identity with driving license, it then asked me to enter my email.. it said we will email you on 15th May to claim online from 8am :-) Happy days!0

Those who are eligible will be able to claim a taxable grant worth 80% of their average trading profits up to a maximum of £7,500 (equivalent to three months’ profits), paid in a single instalment.
