Mortgage buyout value

This is strictly curiosity. Let's say a married couple gets divorced and one has to leave the house (person A) meanwhile (person B) the ex partner still lives there. Down the line person B wants to buy out person A so they own the house solely. Can person A who moved out lower the amount person B has to pay to be able to be the sole owner?

If A & B are in agreement, the price is entirely up to them - who else would be interested?

Married couples need to agree a financial consent order when they divorce not later. Otherwise there's no protection against future events. Could be far more costly for one of the parties.
