    Op, follow Sourcrates' advice. Think of the person at the other end of the line as a dodgy salesman.  Their job is to get the best deal (for them) out of you or an arrangement in their best interest as that is how they will get paid their bonus. If you let them, they'd tell you that you should pay their bill above all others (including rent, tax and food). 
    Ironically now, because they pressed you and you sought help here, potentially they could get less from you now..
