Tutor hunt alternatives

My wife is a tutor and gets students via Tutor Hunt. Until recently, it worked like this. Tutors registered with DBS, education information etc and they were advertised. Prospective students could contact them but not recieve emails, phone numbers etc until they had paid £25 (IIRC) for contact details.
This has changed now they want to take 25% commission on top of the tuition fee for every lesson. Obviously this makes it a lot more expensive for students who probably want to pay less.
Can anyone suggest an alternative?

I share your dissatisfaction with Tutor Hunt on that point. I also preferred the old model. I have now signed up with "Tutor choice" who have a different (non payment) operating model. It may result in fewer introductions, but it seems more comfortable to me, and who knows how it will work in practice? You register with evidence of qualifications, DBS etc in a similar manner.1

There are several similar websites, including First Tutors.

I also share your frustrations Thomas. Up until recently Tutor Hunt was perfect for gaining new clients. I too will be looking elsewhere to advertise my services. It appears that they have followed the likes of Uber in the way they work. Luckily I have not needed to advertise for a couple of years but now that I am looking again and trying to make arrangements with Tutor Hunt well... - back to square one with setting up a profile etc. elsewhere - such a waste of time and such a shame. I am emailing them to express my disappointment but not sure it will make any difference...
