Help to Remortgage for Shared Ownership

My fixed rate mortgage with The Halifax is coming to an end and I want to get a better deal than is currently being offered by Halifax which would work out as an extra £70 pcm (especially now they’ve also randomly started to charge me an ‘account maintenance’ fee). Trouble is, although I have never missed a payment and have a good banking history I’m struggling to find a bank that will offer me a remortgage deal because my property was bought under Shared Ownership (part rent/ part buy). Can anyone suggest a bank who might be able to offer me a deal?
Thanks everyone,
Ali

There are many lenders out there who will enable you to remortgage, perhaps get a broker to advise. I had no problems and remortgaged a couple of times with different shares before my final staircasing to 100% with my SO property. The only issue now I presume in the current climate is your LTV and valuation.

I am a shared ownership mortgage specialist
It will depend on your valuation and mortgage amount as to what is available and whether it is worth switching (there are fees involved with remortgages which need to be factored into whether it is worth it

Thanks for your responses. I discovered the issue is that Southern Housing have not completed a mandatory ESW1 form - and may not do so for several years yet! In the interim I am stuck...(and so are all other Southern residents who may wish to remortgage or sell)
