New Build

My sister and I inherited some land and have now got planning permission to build a house on it. We are about to try and arrange a loan to build the house. Due to the coronavirus situation should wait before either trying to arrange the loan and/or engaging a building firm?

Comments

  • Whether you should wait or not is guesswork at the moment. The real question is whether you are actually able to instruct a builder to commence anything at the moment. You may be able to arrange and put the funds in place for future but I'm guessing that might be all you can do at present.

  • When you talk about a loan - do you mean a mortgage?
I ask because banks don't lend on personal loan basis to build houses.
