Good morning Martin,

Can you apply for a new job while you are being furloughed? If you are successful at the job interview, can you give your notice while being furloughed?

Yep all that is fine. You can’t work anywhere else but you can apply for a new job and resign if you wish. 

It’s actually quite a good time to resign (if you get a new job) as many companies will be quite happy to get you off the payroll and may be open to you not serving your full notice.

You can work elsewhere whilst on furlough
