Hmm, nothing much reasonably priced in Edinburgh, no matter what time of the year it is.. Better to go to one of the nearby towns and travel, if you can. Might not be so easy on Hogmanay,though.

in real terms you have to remember the city is packed and places know they can set prices high.
people even move out of the city and rent their houses out to make money!!
