Mortgage without income history

Any advice on this would be much appreciated.
I've just returned to the UK after 12 years in Spain. My home in Spain is sold and contracts will be exchanged in the next 3 weeks. this leaves me with about 1 third of the income i require to buy a property here in the UK.

So there is the problem - I am job hunting at the moment (I've been running my own company in Spain so hopefully someone will find my skills useful here) and have been told that I need to present 6 months worth of salary slips to get a mortgage.

So I have 6 months to look forward to renting, eating into my income, before I can get a provider to give me a mortgage.

Any tips on how i can get this time limit down once I start work. I'm ready to go in the New Year but I'm stuck!

Many Thanks for any help at all
A

When you say income do you mean deposit? Why would you be eating into your income when you rent? If you owned a property you would be spending the same money on a mortgage payment anyway?

Once you have a permanent job, or have been in a position 3 months then there should be options for you.

Sorry, I do mean deposit. 12 years out of the UK and I've forgotten how to speak English! So, you reckon about 3 months in a job and I can get a mortgage approved. that's much better news. Now I just need to find out where...

Indeed, as long as you are doing the same kind of rol as you were in Spain, some may look at your from day one, but it will depend on your whole scenario
