My adjustment arrived on my credit card account in the early hours of today (23/4) dated 21/4. The discrepancy I'd noticed earlier was due to me going back to the original order on the website, where the weight & cost of the loose spuds was estimated, not their actual weight & cost. The refund is still in the pipeline. I have to place my next order by 10pm tomorrow, so the cycle will start all over again. I think that I'm beginning to see where the complaints of home shopping meaning that you lose control over your credit card may come from. But I also think that I should be better at juggling lots of financial balls than some.

The ASDA Money website is still freezing on a blank white screen.

I've been using ASDA online for over 6 months and they provide refunds that show as pending on the same day as the charge for me. They always have a 1p charge pending until the day of your order when they do charge the full amount. This is to tell if the bank account is still available so you have time to amend payment details before the delivery day. This is smart as it avoids orders being cancelled due to banks blocking the transaction or other incorrect payment detail issues.

It would appear that Asda are no longer sending out email delivery notes which were helpful advising you what items were unavailable and which items had been substituted.  I've had a delivery earlier today and this is the first time I've not had a delivery note.
However, you can click on "Your Orders"  on the Asda Groceries page, then go to the order in question (which will say "Delivered"), click on "View Order" and you will then be able to see what was unavailable and what was substituted.

ASDA may be adapting to meet the ever-changing situation. Or some IT person has changed something to justify their continued employment, which is normal. I know: I was one.

The total of my order has just appeared on my credit card account as a pending transaction, dated today (26/4). My delivery is due tomorrow. The 1p is still there, dated 24/4, when I placed the order.

Being cynical, not telling you what you aren't going to get and you only finding this out when you've got what you've managed to get in your hands could discourage complaints. I think that makes sense. My mind aches.

PS. There's now another small transaction, this time for 2p, dated 27/4.

Yesterday's delivery was the best yet. No unavailable items. The one substitution was one I would've made myself. So, no adjustments or refunds. The previous refund finally arrived on the credit card account earlier today, dated 21/4. The delay was with the credit card company, not ASDA.

The 2p transaction was due to the difference in the cost of the fresh veg' items between their calculated cost on the orignal order as placed and their actual cost on the updated order as received. I think that makes sense. My mind aches.

Why do I suspect that someone will get something like this and accuse them of sharp practice, false accounting, fraud  ... :)

    Heads up, people.

ASDA have a "technical issue" with their website. The problem I've noticed is that you can't select items for refunds. You've only got 3 days to request one.

If the IT people have spent a couple of minutes disabling the time-out, before starting work on the fault, I'll be surprised. If, as I fear, they've gone straight to the fault, then a lot of people still won't be able to get refunds when they do fix the problem. It's already taken them more than a day. This will generate even more calls to the complaints handlers fodder.

    I've been both.

It worked for me this afternoon. I gave the item back to the driver but I filled the refund request in too, I have had the email back confirming my receipt of my request
  • ASDA have sent out "Order Receipts" that do not add up - the individual items do not add to the first sub-total on the receipt. They finally admitted it, after hours of speaking with their customer service people, and said that the fault is now fixed. Check your order receipts - drop the figures into a spreadsheet and check the addition. My most recent experience is that they are "losing" eVouchers applied to orders which are subsequently amended, "!!!!!!" they're gone ! It would appear that their systems need some TLC to put it charitably.
