Furlough Cancelled... after a week

Is it possible for an employer to put you on furlough... And then less than a week later to reverse the decision. (as if it never happened). To return to work?
Reason being is that I thought once on Furlough it was for a minimum of 3 weeks regardless of anything. But my partners employer have done exactly the above.
I guess i don't see a problem with them doing this, just found it a bit strange. And just wanted to clarify.365 Day 1p challenge - £371.49 / 667.95

They can bring the staff back to work, they just won't be able to claim anything from HMRC.“I could see that, if not actually disgruntled, he was far from being gruntled.” - P.G. Wodehouse1

Furlough payment is only there to support companies when their staff can't work. If an employer has decided it is possible for staff to work they are correct in getting them back in and producing.

Your partner should treat it as very good news.1

Yes it is possible.
The only downside is that the employer will not be able to claim for the week he was off, so will have to pay him that weeks wages from their own funds. They have obvisouly decided to do so.0 -

I would check on what bap said if I was you. Not that I’m saying they are wrong. I am saying make sure your partner is going to get paid for the week off they had, or is the employer saying that they’re getting SSP rate or even nothing at all?0
