Crepes were lovely; jamie oliver cheat version of my recipe. Get a small cup; fill with plain flour, unsifted then refill with milk to same level, crack in an egg, pinch salt, few teaspoons plain gran sugar, blend with the hand whisk in a medium bowl. Melt small knob of butter medium heat, ladle onto medium frying pan, let it run around to cover whole surface, few mins either side. Sugar & lemon or nutella 💪😉 makes about 6 crepes...
Costs pennies, eats lovely, soo little clean-up too plus no measuring or hand beating
Needed something to cheer me up, haha
Spent the day cleaning the Audi that cost so much in services: !!!!!! better not need anything for next 12 months!
That aside, no1 wud know it's nearly 13 year old
Even resisted the temptation to dip into DW's wine tonight😂🍷

That recipe sounds amazing. It's been ages since I've cooked anything nice. I might try it this weekend!I think you're right about credit tightening up. A lot of lenders will be wanting to reduce risk as much as possible because of coronavirus. My credit record is destroyed by defaults right now so I won't be getting anything for a long while, but I have friends who are way better with money than I am and who have been using cards and paying them off in full for ages and they're getting their limits cut out of the blue. I guess that's as good of a reason as any to get on top of things now so no transfers end up needed.Start Debt Jun 2020 = £10,036 - Current £5,894 | #324 £1,000 Emergency Fund Member - £2050

Better for the liver than DW's wine, hehe.
But hey, i'm clinging on to still being in the black on the current account so i'll stay chipper for as long as I can. I'm determined not to move any saving back from bonds. We'll just have to cut our cloth to suit & maybe find more unused stuff to sell ☺Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

I make my yorkies in a similar way but use water instead of milk and they turn out lovely and light and nicely risen. Use equal volumes of eggs:flour:water and whisk together. Heat oil in a tin in a very hot oven when it's smoking hot pour in the batter mix and put back in the oven - about 15 minutes for individual ones and 30-40 minutes for 8" square tin.

I'm a proverbial non-money saver & buy aunt bessies yorkshires instead; mybad!Admin for Tilly Tidy to £1825 DFW challenge: 2021

Sometimes they rise so much they hit the top of the oven! The reason I started using water instead of milk was to make them lower calories but it seems they are also lighter and fluffier! When I used to use milk my yorkies never seemed to rise and were quite stodgy.

Lol only real is d an hour ago I had cancelled my dd on the 0% virgin cc and hadn't reactivated d it for this month!
Tried to pay from both current accounts, both declined; its a chrome vs virgin website issue, they even have a message on their payment page to say "chrome may cause payment problems". Multibillion ££ conglomeration that is Virgin, can't just fix it no?!😂
Clear cookies, reloaded, payment went through OK.
All quiet on the money front. Some positive meeting of minds on the shared parental house; a possibility of 'sold' prior to year end if lucky 🙊 not going to tempt fate either way so i'll shush again

Yikes
With all the Covid crap going on, kids off, DW off with tonsillitis, I missed the fact I hadn't the dd in place for my CC. As above, I had problems with the Virgin website making payment.
My Sept payment was due on 10th, i've a confirmation e-mail from them payment was made on 10th however t&c in my statement says 'please allow 3 working days for payments to clear' (crazy in the days of fast payments).
I've messaged virgin for confirmation they're not going to withdraw my 0% and hammer my credit rating: I know in the time of Covid how banks' algorithms work, there probably aren't many 'real people' looking at it.
Am I worrying needlessly? Has anyone else fallen foul of this, particularly in relation to 0% offers being withdrawn for payment being made on time but clearance of payment, interbank, taking it past the payment due date?
I've dd back in place, needless to say & won't be tinkering with amounts again if this nonsense is going to happen.

I wouldn't worry too much @IrishSean - I thought I'd paid off a loan to Santander in May, so cancelled the direct debit after the last payment on 1st May. Unbeknown to me there was a payment due on 1st June that I had overlooked. I realised on the 2nd June, and phoned Santander in a panic as I was very worried about my credit score. Santander explained that they don't mark a payment as late until after 3 days - apparently if a direct debit is declined they try again in a couple of days, before marking the payment as late/missed. I was able to make a payment over the phone, and my credit rating is clear - no missed payments in June thank goodness! If yours was a day late with Virgin, then I'd imagine they would have a similar system.Debt Free Journey

My panic was driven by the fact that I a) assumed I had the dd in place and b) ive never missed a payment on anything ever. I was assuming there must be some grace given for payments to clear as otherwise there'd be a flood of complaints every month and many more ppls credit ratings would be thrashed.
I've no reply yet from Virgin but take comfort in 3 things 1) ive an email saying payment was made on the due date 2) they haven't emailed to say anything sinister yet plus they acknowledge payment problems on their site 3) I got a text yesterday saying my payment was overdue but if i'd made a payment already then please ignore.
Fingers crossed; I don't really want to have to post correction notes on my credit file if I can avoid it.
