Look for an accountant for corporation tax - a simple accounting job

Hi everyone,

I am not sure this is the best place to ask this question. If not, please let me know and I will change it.

I am running a small company (actually it's classified as micro-entity) as my part time job, aiming to increase some additional income. I am the only employee/director. The company was set to invest properties (flat/apartment) and has received regular rental income. Currently the company has been running for a year and has one property only (1 bed apartment). In the last financial year, March 2019 - March 2020, there were 50-60 transactions (mortgage payment, rental income, service charge, etc) which were all recorded into an excel spread sheet. I am now looking for an accountant to help me file annual account to companies house and corporation tax return to HMRC.

I can do most work including filling annual account and return tax to HMRC. However, as the company is related to investment asset, i can only use commercial software to return tax, and therefore i am looking for an accountant to assist me with reasonable cost.

Questions:

1. Can you please advise where i can find one accountant? I don’t' keen on using large accounting company as they are very expensive and my company profit you can imagine is very marginable.

2. Alternatively, if you know some software is straightforward to use with reasonable cost, please advise.

Thanks everyone in advance.

If you look down your local high street you will probably find an accountant. Failing that, use yell.com to find one. For a simple job like preparing your accounts to calculate Corporation Tax you don't need anything other than a high-street accountant. They will all have the software to submit a CT return to HMRC.
I would check whether you doing any of the work will save time or money - I expect they will send the accounts off to Companies House for not much more than the cost of the envelope and stamp.

The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.
