  • Couldn't you wear a mask & be fastidious in wiping down machinery before you use it?

but I'd second the advice about leaving the group chat group.....that's just asking for trouble

I don't think that there is necessarily a link between them never having been off sick previously and them taking time off for this virus. Personally, I think that if you feel you have to work then it is probably best not to dwell on something you have no control over,
With your opening comment are you suggesting that they may treat this differently?
There's a chance anything could happen in life. There's a chance that the moment i click post comment on this post, at that precise second in time a lightning bolt could come and strike me square on the head even though it's been a nice day for the weather and it shows no signs of lightning any time soon.
But knowing this person as i do, i would be absolutely gobsmacked if they didn't turn in.
As you say, i have no control over them coming in or not. I was just a bit unsure of what to do if they did come in, despite the fact they will have been carrying it before showing signs. That's why i thought i'd sound off of others.

You report it to the police. 999 is technically appropriate as a potential offence is occuring. The police can require him to return home, or to a suitable facility.
Thank you for the straight answer Comms. Hopefully nobody where i work has it or gets it, including the public we have to deal with. That'd be the ideal scenario.

99% of people dont have it. So chances are you wont. I know of 8 people, but then i work at a hospital, so much higher likelihood of someone i know getting it

Yes, I was suggesting that. However, you know them better than I do and perhaps they really are the idiot you fear they are, in which case you have choices to make. I hope you stay safe.
