PPI - can it be reopened if proof found?
Options
Hi all,
Yes, another PPI question, but one I couldn't find answered anywhere.
Last year, or possibly 2018, I tried to claim the PPI back from Northern Rock. Filled in the form, and they came back to me saying that they couldn't find anything. Fast forward to today, and I've found proof in a box of old stuff I was clearing out.
What should I do?
Looking at the documents, I gave them all the correct info, they just somehow couldn't find me from my full name and correct address!?

You can try and see if they will look at it now, as it was an existing complaint, can`t hurt to try.

It depends on what you found. You are not claiming it back, you are complaining. It's very important to know the difference. A claim means you suffered an event PPI or insurance of some type would ave covered. A complaint is where you are alledging wrongdoing. If your original 'claim' was actually a complaint, and they rejected your complaint based on no evidence, then the stuff you have found must show that evidence. Not only must it show evidence of PPI, but it has to have been missold in some way for them to uphold a complaint. So you can send them copies of your evidence along with your complaint reasons, and ask them to re-open their invesitgation but there has to have been a miss-sell of some sort for them to uphold it. Just having PPI is not a complaint reason.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi1

Do you have these?0

Thanks all.
Yes, definitely proof of payment, it states some £3000+ of PPI was paid. This despite me not knowing about it way back then, and having a secure job with full sick cover, etc. so there was no way I would have needed it. Even if I had been run over and killed, there was plenty of insurance in place.
Can't believe they "couldn't find any evidence"!0 -

Only one party to the agreement is allowed to keep data indefinitely, and it's not them.0
