To the best of my knowledge, my own bankruptcy was NOT reported in the local press - I bought the papers (2 local rags) for about two months - saw nothing and niether did anyone else mention that they had seen it - my mum is certainly one of those who 'scours' the 'announcements' and she, certainly, would have told me.
To be perfectly honest - I was a bit (not a lot) 'disappointed' not to see it.
But I wouldn't worry, JCB, today's news is tomorrow's chip paper.

  • They are quite difficult to find so those reveling in telling you they'd seen it must have been looking for some gossip. They also make incredibly boring reading.

  • If I was horrible, I'd be tempted to say they should stop doing this.

    But I'm not horrible, so I won't. ;)

    Hi there,

My oh & I knew it would appear in the local press. The only thing that miffed me was that I was named first, & him second, was it really all my fault ?, as people only read about me & were so excited they had some gossip didn't read about my oh listed underneath. (He thought it really funny!!!)

But as others have said, its yeserday news.

when my inlaws went bankrupt a couple of years back they never mentioned that they where in the local paper. They would feel the same as the others, let them talk give someone else a break..;)

  • we once lived in wales and was quite surprised to see divorce cases listed in the local press with names of all parties and who had done what with them, now THATS gossip worth reading!
