Role of conductor on Greater Anglia regional services

Options
Hello everyone, I notice that there is a conductor routinely provided on GA regional services despite them almost always being operated DOO using Class 755s. Given that the train is DOO, then I take it that the conductor is no longer a guard as they no longer routinely perform the functions of a guard. Am I right? What can I call them apart from a "conductor"? Are they the same type of person as an "Onboard Supervisor"? Thanks.

The trains were designed to be DOO but there were problems initially with the cameras being unreliable which meant the driver couldn't check the train before closing the doors and the RMT weren't happy about the extended DOO use so there is still a guard on the train who is trained in safety and dispatch duties.

But what if they're female. They might take umberage with being called "Miss", or "Ma'am".  :D

Ma'am, not madam is the accepted way to address a female. It does mot imply miss or missus.
That is the way that the military or any other uniformed service that has a rank structure dies it.*

    * Unless you are Army and answering the phone then everybody is sir until the sex and rank of the caller is established.
