Fireflyaway said:I don't pay road tax and the insurance is cheap. I fill just 1 tank a month so running costs are pretty low. I just thought selling it was a way to pay back a back a chunk of what I owe my parents. Overall I probably need to up my income because even without this issue I'm not left with much money at all after bills.0

Just in regards to the above suggestion - I think looking for somewhere much cheaper to live (after this has all calmed down) is a great idea. 76% of income going on rent per month will never be sustainable and needs a different solution.
But I think you're unlikely to be able to take in a lodger per se if you rent yourself without being in danger of subletting as it's not your property to lease out. Check your tenancy agreement to see if this is allowed. I doubt it will be - but if you have a two bed place for example, maybe talk to your landlord about adding a flat mate to split the bills with. Make sure it's all done by them having a proper tenancy agreement drawn up with the landlord to protect you both.Debt Free: 06/03/2020 Highest Debt: £37,5142
