in Cutting tax
hey guys
I'm self employed and pay taxes through cis. I normally get some one to do my tax return but in current circumstances I thought I'd try save a few quid and give it a go myself. Is there a guide to follow to make sure I'm doing it right?
Thanks

3 steps as this is one if the easiest tax returns to complete.
1) obtain all Cis statements and calculate you total income and cis deductions.
2) calculate all your expenses and categories them. Google form sa103f, that will list the catergoies.
3) sign up for online account on gov.uk. once you have activated your account, ring HMRC. They can do step by step on each page to help you. If you require extra support due to personal reason or learning difficulties, ask to speak to the needs enhanced support team. They can go through it in fine detail but you need to meet certain criteria. Honestly accountants charge 300 plus to fill in 3 boxes. Not worth it0 -
When phoning hmrc is it a automated process or do I actually speak to a person?0
