Asking Price vs Selling Price in 1991

Hi all,
I'm still trying to get my 2-bed flat's band down from F. I have 'proposed' C. Anyway, my next tactic is to go to the local history library this afternoon and look at the property section from the local paper in 1991.
Does anyone know what the rough average selling price compared to asking price was in April 1991? This is South-East London by the way.
Thanks! If not I'll try the House Buying and Prices board next...

Whilst you are looking, if you happen to stumble upon a ONE BEDROOM semi-detached house that sold for between £52,001 and £68,000 (Band C) then I would be most grateful.

I have for you a 1-bed terrace for which the asking price was 64,950, and a string of 2-bed semis or one-bed flats, but sorry no 1-bed semis.
Reasonably pleased with my outing as I have found
* a 4-bed 3-bath flat in a nicer part of the area with an asking price of £94,950, so I find it hard to believe they can maintain that our 2-bed 2-bath should be over £120,000.
* a 3-bed terrace with garden round the corner for £83,000
* a 3-bed 2-bath townhouse for £89,950 over in the nearby bit of SE8Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!0 -
Congratulations it sounds as if you have cracked it. And many thanks for the info that you found for me. Just in case you need any more similar properties to yours, then email me a photo and I will see what I can find in SW4.
Having read through what a lot of problems and anguish many people are going through with their local VOAs, I am going to be ultra cautious with them.
Have decided that the only way to win is to provide them with at least 4 identical or very similar properties. Even then there is no guarantee of success!!
In my case it is really not easy as there is a dearth of ONE BEDROOM Semi-detached houses in the Greater London area.
Never thought that anything would be so difficult. There must be hundreds of thousands of people going through the same problems.
