Sorry to say but you are making it all sound like Klarnas fault. Real bad management from your side, pay it off and learn from it and take some responsibility

Hmmm.. some not very helpful advice posted in places I am afraid...

Firstly a debt like this can only be defaulted once (as in defaulted under the Consumer Credit Regulations). They can send you letters chasing payments and saying you are 'in default' but the default date itself does not change. Secondly, I do not think you have any grounds at all to suggest that Klarna is at fault for not chasing you more. Sorry.

More importantly, the default is probably now in place and will be there for six years. All you can really do it get it settled. I doubt the debt collection agency will add on further fees but you are right that Klarna have probably added a fee each time a payment was missed. You could possibly challenge those on the basis they are disproportionate to the actual costs of issuing the letters. Are you in a position o either settle or to make an offer? It might be a good way to go if you want this resolved asap. Either way, a debt collection firm is more likely to agree a repayment plan fi you can make an initial payment up front.

    Good luck with it
