Is there any way of uploading documents to my journal when applying for UC as I have my passport scanned in on my laptop and have this in my possession with a few bank statements but am away from home for a few weeks. I don't want to get to the phone appointment and it's dragged out trying to verify my identity when I can make life a lot easier by including some documents now.

I don't know, but presumably there is no-one 'at home' who could post your passport to you?

I’m not sure it’s possible, the only way I’ve ever been able to upload something is when I’ve submitted childcare costs. Have you left a note on your journal to try and explain the situation?

Yes, I've left a note on the journal explaing the situation, I just don't want it to get to next month and then find there are more delays. With regards to getting the passport sent out to me, I can't do this as I've had to leave home due to bothmy parents being elderly and vunerable and I used to do alot of travelling back and forth each week so decided it best to move when the lockdown started and stay put. They can't get my documents to the post office.

Do they not have any friends or neighbours who could do this for you / them? I know round here there are quite a few organisations / schemes / notes through doors where people who can't get out can get things delivered, and one of the specific 'offers' is taking things to the post.

I know that finding a lot of this requires t'internet, but if you did a search or looked at their local Facebook pages, I'd be surprised if something couldn't be organised.

  • Yes you can upload to the uc account, however, you may need to ask your case worker shown on the journal to arrange it. (so hopefully that is what may happen for you)
On 8th April I got a message that they had set an "upload-to-do" with an expiry time of a week.
  • Yes you can upload
