Almost at the end of the month here, relatively on budget, just a few tweaks. However have been unorganised with meal planning and shopping again this month - need to focus on this for November as its a real area of weakness which leads to significant overspends.
I've been desperately trying to get an online shop slot but still nothing opening up for my area, I'm hoping this will help keep me on track. Trying to get hubby on board with this more too as he's rather guilty of expensive food shopping. I shouldn't complain as he's a wonderful cook and we eat well...just need to do it on more of a budget.
We are starting to plan the next phase of works on the house so hoping this will keep us focussed on debt busting and saving. We're very fortunate that hubby has had a small pay rise so that's going straight into savings. Waiting to see exactly how much it equates too in this months pay after taxes etc but every little helps!

Day off today so between chores have been doing a bit of forecasting of our debt busting and savings. We are keen to start planning in the next lot of work to the house so trying to set ourselves a challenge with our savings target.
I am a naturally cautious person whereas Hubby is much more gun-ho so trying to find the balance. I am excited by getting the house how we'd like it but at the same time like having money in the bank. Our CC are interest free and on track to pay off before the end of the 0% so I'm not concerned re those but the loan bothers me! I want that balance between saving for the house and paying off the loan early.
Hubby and I just need to find that balance!

So looking very likely I'll be furloughed again from Thursday but should find out more today. Hubby we're not sure about yet as from the initial announcement looks like they could stay open but it's whether or not they have enough work to keep them all in the office.
If we're both furloughed we'll manage, moneywise we'll just have to put a little less in savings from next month but should be able to still keep on track off debt busting.
I just can't believe we're here again at another lockdown, feeling a bit nervous for the state of the economy after all this. I'm so NOT a tory but pity any politician having to balance off all these decisions at the moment.
I hope everyone stays safe and well in these troubled times. Look after yourselves and be kind to yourselves :-)
