70 + and work during covid19

I’m 72. I still work part time in the care/support industry. I’ve been told by my doctor not to work as I’m asthmatic and diabetic. Obviously I’ve taken his advice. My company has told me that it will pay me for the 12 weeks I’m off. I do need to submit a government letter or doctors note. Neither of these are available for someone my age. Can anyone advise me on where to go from here. I have searched the gov and Nhs websites, nothing for this situation.

If all else fails you can ask your doctor to write a letter for you to give to your employers. The doctor can charge for that, as it is outside their NHS duties, but probably still well worthwhile.0
