Agenvy contract not renewed

Any advice gratefully received!
I have been working as a temporary worker for a government agency for 3 years. I was told a few weeks ago that it was very likely that the role that I was covering would be got rid of in the next few months, but that my contract, which was due to expire on 30th March, would be extended until the end of June.
The day after the Coronavirus lock-down was announced my workplace was closed down. I already knew that I would be unable to wfh, not having a work laptop, and not able to get one due to there only being a couple available in my team. When I rang the agency to tell them that I was unable to work, they told me that my contract had still not been extended by my workplace, and they would chase this. My manager rang me 2 days later to say that the extension had been turned down.
Sorry this is so long, but my question is - as agency workers are included in the 80% of salary payment if unable to work due to Coronavirus, is it worth me pursuing this with my workplace? I have effectively been let go with notice and now have no income. It seems obvious that had my contract extension been in place before the lock down, if only the day before, then I would now be entitled to 80% of my salary.
Thanks.

Let go with *no* notice0

Your contract has ended - you aren't entitled to anything. Sorry.2

Thanks. Yes, I can see that I have no legal entitlement to anything. I was there for 3 years and I had a verbal assurance that the contract would be extended to June 30th. I'm kicking myself for not checking that my managers had actually actioned the extension request until a week before it expired and we were on lock-down. I'm the only member of the team who wasn't a permanent employee, and I guess it was an obvious move to not renew the contract in the current situation. It does seem unfair, but yes, nothing I can do about it now.

Who paid you? Which agency - the government agency or an employment agency?

Is it one of those situations where you have to re-apply for the job as it were.
