Employer now wants to furlough me during my redundancy notice period

I can not find any definitive Covid-19 Job Retention Scheme furloughing guidance about my circumstances, which must be quite common right now.
I was given notice of redundancy on 2 March 2020, and my final date of employment will be end April 2020. So I am still an employee.
The company wants me to accept being furloughed, presumably because they intend to obtain money from the Government's job retention scheme to cover 80% of my final few weeks wages. Initially they said they would only pay me 80% of wages. I told them I was declining their offer to be furloughed. Subsequently the company have said they will top-up the 20% and pay me 100%, but I don't entirely trust them.
My redundancy is nothing to do with coronavirus, and the company has no intention of rescinding the termination of my employment and keeping me on beyond the end of April.
As I'm being made redundant, and am in the notice period, it seems to me that:
(i) the company has to pay me my full salary until the end of my contract in any case;
(ii) therefore there is no benefit to me in agreeing to be furloughed;
(iii) if the company claims Government Job Retention Scheme money for 80% of my salary, they might be doing so fraudulently (because they're not doing anything to retain my job, and the position was made redundant for reasons nothing to do with coronavirus).
Any thoughts, and is anyone else in this situation?

    1) there's also no disadvantage to you being furloughed
    2) it's the company's risk not your
    3) it might help short term cashflow enough to keep some other poor soul in a job, even if they do get audited and have to give it back later.

    Sounds like they’re trying to turn the situation to their advantage to me. I would stick with redundancy then at least you’ll get what you’re entitled to.

    1 and 2 sound correct.

    I disagree with point 3. If you are not working, then I can't see any reason why the employer couldn't claim furlough. In any event it's none of your business whether the employer meets the furlough criteria or not.
