Morning!
I have decided that 2008 is going to be my big year! I am going to really hit my debts, get some savings and be ready for Christmas next year.
And to do this I think I need a bigger and better spreadsheet... The only problem is I am an IT idiot and have no idea where to really start!
I think I know what I want and I was wondering if people had any tips and hints on how to build it... Have I told you that I think you are all lovely, beautiful people
I want something that I can put my incomings in and obviously take my montlhy outgoings from. I would also like to include daily spends so that at any stage in the month I know where I am (big problem at the moment!) I would also like to be able to create some graphs that show where my money goes each month what percentage is spent where and also what percentage of my debt I have paid off that month and overall.
I have no idea if this can be done and if the graphs can be created at a touch of a button and then automatically updated. I would love to be able to build this myself as I think it would be an IT achievement for the IT idiot!
I'm currently at work (quiet Friday) and have access to Excel 2000 and I have Excel 2007 at home.
Would love some help! :iloveyou: :kisses3:

Hi Lucy
Eager Learner has a spreadsheet with some of this on it available to download - I did a search for the user name and it came up as about the third entry. Not sure if it is what you are looking for but worth a look. Would do a link but I'm also an IT idiot!!!!

Its definately all possible as excel is very flexible.
I use it all day everyday with my job so if you ever get stuck then let me know.
I am not an expert but I am quite good with formulas, charts etc.
Mmmmmm makes me wonder why I haven't done myself a spangly spreadsheet.Proud to be dealing with my debts - DFW No: 712

Can you give us an idea of what your perfect workbook would be?
What would you want to input?
Would the data be stored for any length of time?
would it be daily/weekly/monthly/yearly data you would want to see?
(I take it you would want a calander year rather than a financial year?)
got a few ideas - bar chart to tell you how much of a total budget you have left, pie chart to see where your money is being allocated - graph to see weekly, monthly and yearly comparisons for spending
What's your idea of an allsinging all dancing workbook?
Have you had a look at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=611699After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Thanks. That link is really good.
Your right it would be the calender year. What I have a the moment is literallt just a list all my income and then all of my outgoing bills and a figure for 'spends' money. Which is fine and does the job sort of. But I would like to be able analysis the info a bit more. At the moment the data covers a year, although I would like to be able to compared one year to another. I hope that makes sense.
But the charts and graphs sounds fab!Current debt - £16,300Debt at worst 17/03/2011 - £18,067.62:eek::eek::ANot going anywhere else, ever again :A0
