Decent Bed/Mattress under £250?

For the spare room I'm in need of a bed which ideally would be a small double for under £250 with mattress included. The bed is going to be used daily for the next several months.
I have absolutely no idea of which type to go for, whether or not the bed type makes a difference i.e metal, wooden, divan type. Metal beds I've had in the past seem to squeak a lot and the base of the Divan looks like It'd be more secure.
Can anyone recommenced a good quality bed that can be delivered. There's not really much preference just that some storage would be nice.
Thank you

I got mine from BHF, brand new bed / mattress for £179.99, think my delivery was £17, but I was having enough furniture to fill a 2 bed flat.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a mattress without trying it for comfort / suitability.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.1 -
Ikea do some very good mattresses. We have Morgendal, which might be slightly over your budget, at £180. Which? recommends Hamarvik, at £129.
You should be able to pick up a solid base at £100-ish. Ikea Neiden, which is a bit flimsy, is only £60.
Personally, I'd spend most of your budget on the mattress and less on the base.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?1 -
Hi, we move threads if we think they’ll get more help elsewhere (please read the forum rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board. If you have any questions about this policy please email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.
I’ve moved your thread from the ‘In my home’ board to the ‘I wanna’ board, where it is better suited.

When I needed a cheap bed & mattress combination, I bought the Hamarvik mattress new at Ikea and a second-hand bed base off eBay. The Hamarvik mattresses come rolled up so are easy to get into the back seat of a car.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1

Normally IKEA, but their stores are closed and they're currently not doing any deliveries that need 2 employees.

We got our mattress from Dreams, in the clearance/returns section. It had been refused at the point of delivery so never unwrapped or touched. I think we paid £160 for a king size sprung with memory foam top layer. It’s so comfy. Of course at the moment you can’t go in a shop so that’s difficult. Any old base will do under a nice mattress.1

Thanks everyone, was set on the Ikea options but didn't realise they weren't delivering. I'll check out dream too.

I bought my inexpensive metal bed frame over a decade ago, virtually no wear. I have Chronic Fatigue and I'm usually to be found sleeping or resting on it for most of the days!
You won't get that life out of a cheap divan or cheap wood base IMO.1 -
As above IkeaBut decent mattress £500 plus .Noticed that some of the smaller mattress stores are still delivering . Try google local .1
