Hi guys.
I had an overdraft with BoS for numerous years. The arranged amount was for £2200. It went into unaarranged to around £2293 I hadn’t any payments for 2 months on the account then i brought the balance to £2190 which was back in the arranged amount. The following day they placed it in default. I had no prior warnings about this. Is it something I could challenge and have removed from my file?

Hi from my understanding they have to give you notice before issuing the default and give you two weeks to clear the arrears.
So if you didn't receive a letter and youv'e now cleared the debt I would give them a call and find out why they have issued the default and go from there.0 -
I never recieved a letter nor signed for one or was contacted by telephone regarding it. However I understand the arrears was £93 over the o/draft but it was cleared and I was put into default with a positive account balance0

Yea just sounds like an error, how did you find out about the default? I've had many a default notice come through to me it's always a letter with an information sheet and then saying contact them within 14 days. If you didn't get this and you've cleared the balance just give them a call. Say you didn't get notice of a default, you were only two months behind and it's been cleared so you don't understand why they've issued the default and hopefully they will be able to remove it for you.0
