Refund of deposit

I paid a £250 deposit by debit card for a course I was intending to go on but after 3 days I realised that the course was not for me. The course was not due to start until Oct 2020 so I gave plenty of notice.  I asked for a full refund of the deposit but have been told that they do not offer refunds but in my case will give me £125! It does not say anywhere on their website or in the paperwork that the deposit is refundable, my reason for cancelling the course is genuine, I have since emailed back to ask that I want a full refund but so far no response (it’s only been 4 days). There was only 3 days between me paying the deposit and cancelling the course. Does anyone know if they are legally bound to refund my deposit? Many thanks.
