need loan to keep job

I work approx 65 miles from home and need a car urgently as mine has died. I do about 37,000 miles a year.
I have a bad credit record despite being in full time employment and earning a decent salary and cannot get a loan from anyone. (Wife hid ccj and other debts from me until I applied for a loan and was rejected.)
I am currently borrowing a friend's car to get to work but this won't continue for much longer.
Can anyone tell me where I can borrow enough money to buy a car that will enable me to get to work?
Any help will be much appreciated. I really don't know what to do.

You would be looking at a finance company that specialise in doing high risk which equals high interest loans especially for cars.
Is there not anyone who works with you that you could possibly car share with until you are able to save a little to buy a car?
You said that your wife hid her debt problems etc from you were these debts in both your names or just your wifes. If only in your Wifes name you could (I think and if I am mistaken sorry but someone else will come along with better advice) have a notice of "disassociation" added to your credit file, this means that your Wife and yourself are not financially linked. Might be worth finding out about that.
I know the car issue is very important, is there any way you could perhaps save a little for a wee bit longer (will you get a bonus at christmas from work) that way perhaps you could purchase a car.
There have been many stories about people in similar situations taking out cars from these specialist lenders only to find themselves with crippling repayments and various other problems.
Do you have a bank account have you approached your Bank if your account has always been maintained sastisfactory and you have a fairly long relationship with them they may be able to help.
Sorry not to have the answers you are looking for, but ring the CAB tmwr and ask about the possibility of "Financial disassocation" and see if that helps.
Good Luck:j I have a persecution complex. Everytime I pass a shoe shop they persecute me till I buy them:j0 -
Another alternative may be find someone to hire a car on a monthly basis. I am not saying it will be a cheap solution, but factor in insurance, running costs, servicing etc, it may at least be a short term solution.Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal. The Government do not like the competition.

Thanks everyone - some options to consider, at least.

I saw your post and i think you should seek help from a certified lending company. My advise is you contact Ekpoma Finance Inc. they are reputable and very considerate. Email one of their staff via james_o2000 @ live.com
