Hi guys
In this difficult time I think we all need to be a bit kinder to ourself and others. Staying in is quite difficult I’ve found, when I’m working I really look forward to going home but now I have plenty of time here it’s quite tying, not being able to just go out and about when you want if you.
So I’ve decided to make a list of things I can do to keep occupied, to treat myself, basically to not go mad stuck at home.
So for starters I’m going to spend more time on me, pampering. I’m actually going to do my nails, ( i work in a food shop so never have painted nails ) but since we are closed I can

I’m going to read more.
Watch the world go by (out of the window)
Binge watch the series I want to ( I’m currently rewatching game of thrones ) it’s funny how you have forgotten bits or remember them differently.
Try to do one thing at a time. I actually prepared tea while cooking lunch the other day when I’ve currently got all the time in the world.

I’ve discovered that if I don’t get dressed in the morning, I have more strength and energy to do stuff around the house and garden, so I am being kind to myself by removing that expectation. I have a quick wash then put a onesie over my pyjamas, I’ve discovered that if I don’t get dressed in the morning, I have more strength and energy to do stuff around the house and garden, so I am being kind to myself by removing that expectation. by about two in the afternoon, I have a soak and a read in the bath, then I get dressed.
I am actually chucking all of my CBT from the last four years out of the window – I’ve got 12 weeks to find my own level! 😃

I am working from home, and we have several Skype video calls each day. I find this gives structure to my day (I really like structure!) and ensures I wash my hair, get dressed and slap make up on every morning because I am going to be on camera.
To relax, and especially as the weather has been so lovely, I have been spending more time doing gardening. I find I am also catching up on all those little tidying/organising jobs I never had time for before, and it feels quite satisfying.
I am also reading and knitting more, have indulged myself by browsing my extensive library of cookery books for new supper ideas, and have been able to dedicate more time to my Duolingo Welsh course. We FaceTime our two daughters every day, and read a bedtime story to tiny grandson.
I haven’t had time to get bored yet 😀8 -
I had a super work out dancing to 'Queen' on the sonos while I chopped up and cooked the curries for supper tonight, followed loosely a Zumba for the over 60s routine I saw on you tube. Bopping away while you cook is downright fun!10

What a lovely idea for a thread!
Now that the Great Shutdown has started, I’m working from home, with several conference calls every day. DH is too and is finding that he’s spending more time on Skype than he ever spent in face-to-face meetings. I found last week quite hard emotionally, so my plan for next week is to start the day with exercise. It was difficult to switch off, so I will finish each work day with a stretching/yoga session too, something to give me mental space.

I really do need to start nibbling less or they will be rolling me back to work when the time comes. Moneywise I need to cut back a bit too. My work shut down on Wednesday evening and OH is self employed and that’s finished until this is over but luckily gets a small pension. I’ve got enough food in stock to last us for at least a couple of weeks so from tomorrow it’s time to start treating what’s now as normal cos we don’t know how long it’s going to be.
Keep well

I'm washing my hands so much, that they are very dry. So I have dug out the very expensive hand cream and it's getting used. Smells wonderful.10

I'm chirruping to the hand cream and nice soaps that people have bought me as gifts which have sat in drawers. I've got some lovely stuff to use which cheers me up. I'd never have bought the posh stuff for myself, but now they have come into their own.8

Good morning guys
I must remember not to drink a whole pot of proper coffee to myself. It made me very anxious yesterday.
My OH has decided that the 2 metre rule is a new form of dance. Avoiding others on our walks and when he went in the post office. This country just isn’t geared up for that amount of space, pavements usually aren’t wide enough and shops definitely aren’t, but all we can do is our best and that hopefully will be good enough.
i hope everyone is keeping well in these odd and scary times.

Reading back on the thread I'm currently grateful that my manager isn't suggesting video conferencing the amount of time we spend on skype calls.
I've swapped seeds via the post with one of my sisters as we have been unable to meet up (she lives 50 miles away and we usually meet half way) and i'll share some with my sister who lives local by leaving in her porch. We can share successes (and failures) via email and phone. I've arranged for a local gardener who I've used before to come for a few hours and tidy my garden to start the year as my hands object to heavy gardening these days.
The sewing machine is back on the table do some of those projects i've been putting off, now should be the time to use up some of my fabric and wool hoard supplies
