Bottle of Whisky

My boyfriend and I are making a Christmas hamper for his grandparents this year. So far we have:

Harveys Bristol Cream (1l)
Calendar
Chocs

Would like to get his grandpa a nice bottle of whisky but at a good price, as we have already spent a little bit on the other items, including the basket and the point of making a hamper was to kind of try and save a little bit of money, but still make it look nice.

Any suggestions on where I could pick up a good/cheap bottle would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there

Have you had a look on www.mysupermarket.com ? only you can price up thyings from asda, tesco, sainsbury and ocado... i have just had a look at tesco and they have a 700ml bottle of single malt (which is much better than blended) for £8.99 -which is a good price ..it was called GREAT GLEN ... hope it helps

  • I don't know if this is what you meant but you can find some really great priced miniature bottles of whisky for between 2-5pounds and I think they look really cute (as opposed to cheap!) especially if its a more expensive brand. If you have a specialist whisky shop anywhere near you it might be worth popping in for look.
  • Somerfield at the moment have Glenlivet 12 year old single malt whisky on offer at £14.99 from £24.99, a good offer for a whisky drinker.

I have had some good experiences of the Supermarket own brand single malts. They are good value, very nice and importantly for a gift look like a quality bottle with the supermarket logo quite small and hard to notice!
