Hi, was wondering if anyone can give me some advice?
Bought a new computer last friday (23rd Nov), which appears to have just died on me. Switched it on earlier today, left the room and when I came back in the screen was all funny (lots of diagonal lines across the screen, same colour as the desktop background). Started up again fine afterwards, then as I'd installing our printer driver it crashed again. Restarted it, and now its stuck on a black screen with the mouse and a small blue circle next to it that keeps flashing on then off.
Yesterday my boyfriends game wouldn't load, it said we had to change the settings in the hard drive (we had to change it from DMA to PIO, and back again - it's what the game troubleshooter said to do) and when we switched it back and restarted it, it had wiped some of the files and my boyfriends saved game, and the background had changed. It had also wiped the printer driver off, which is why I was re-installing it today.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong with it? We've not downloaded anything we shouldn't have, we've got anti-virus and anti-spyware set up on there so we know that's not the problem. I'm just at a loss as to what it could be!
It won't load up in safe mode either. Or safe mode with networking.

try going into bios and reset to defaults.
Failing that reinstall windows.
Failing that, use the warrantyEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0
