in Cutting tax
Wondering if anyone be can help me out here. My employer had only been putting so much wages through the books. My set wages are £400p/w takehime after tax. I was always paid £300 in the bank every week and £100 cash plus any extras I had earnt was paid in cash too. Now that the government are going to pay 80% of our wages I’ve now found out that only £300 has been declared to HMRC. Can anyone give me any advice of what’s I can do or where I stand.

The government are going to pay your employer 80%, your employer is free to make it up to full pay. In this case he will get 80% of £300 back rather than 80% of £400. Make this his problem not yours. If he doesn't give you 80% of £400, tell him you will need to query this with hmrc.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If your employer is this dodgy, how confident are you that they're actually going to want to participate in the government's job retention scheme ?

OP wants their cake and eat it. Your both clearly not paying your fair share of tax and you have been party to it. You won't get 80% of the 400 for sure. HMRC will know eventually, I hope you been saving up this money
