All train tickets to be refundable as Government temporarily takes over rail operators - MSE News

Wasn't sure if this also applies to the Heathrow Express.
I have two fixed day tickets for a trip I was due to make to Spain next weekend.
The advice is you can rebook via an online form for a date in the next 12 months for tickets booked up to 31 May - but we of course have no idea when we will be able to travel again and I would rather not just book a random set of dates. Am happy to get a voucher but that isn't on offer.

So Greater Anglia can take full payment from my account immediately on purchase on an Annual Season ticket, but the refund will take up to 56 days (non negotiable). How is that possible in these days, when it is just reversing the entries. I got Harlow Town station to process all the required paperwork over 3 weeks ago, and was told by their staff it would be no more than 7 days. Now GA have passed these costs onto Government departments, what are the chances of receiving the refund before we come out of lockdown. If this situation was the other way round, GA would be taking me to court. Completely unacceptable. Is there anyway to speed up this so called manual process ?0

I have advance tickets for 04/12/20 to Edinburgh with TPE they have cancelled train but still won't refund as they say i could go later in the day. However we need to be there before the train arrives which I've told them but still they won't refund or even give me credit note surely this is rubbish?0

YOUR RIGHT TO A REFUND IF YOUR TRAIN IS DISRUPTED AND YOU CHOOSE NOT TO TRAVEL30.1. If the train you intended to use is cancelled, delayed, or your reservation will not be honoured, and you decide not to travel, you may return the unused Ticket to the original retailer or Train Company from whom it was purchased, where you will be given a full refund with no administration fee being charged. This Condition applies to all Tickets, including Tickets (such as Advance Tickets) that are otherwise non-refundable, and also applies if you have begun your journey but are unable to complete it due to delay or cancellations and return to your point of origin.0
