Should I increase borrowing when I remortgage ?

We were planning a loft extension and to borrow this money when we remortgage. Our mortgage advisor is currently carrying out the application. With the Coronavirus I am unsure whether to proceed ? Like millions of others I’m worried about our financial situation. I’m a teacher and my husband is a contracts manager for a construction company, he is employed. We are looking to borrow £75k. Our current mortgage is £200k with our property worth £400k (pre-Coronavirus). What do we do ? The borrowing rate is 1.24%. Any advice would be really appreciated x

If there's no immediate rush. Perhaps just wait a while. Be prepared for lock down.0
