SKIPTON BUILDING SOCIETY

Options
So where do I start??
And I don’t mean to rant!!!!!
Hopefully I am not the only one with the same view and argument??
So some 20+ years ago purchased a mortgage with Skipton, at that time I took out the mortgage it came with a GUARANTEE that the society would not charge anymore that 3% above Bank of England base rate once you reverted to the svr mortgage after your term ended!

well my term ended and I reverted to the svr rate, then the BOE slashed the rate..... but after some time at the VERY LOW BOE rate! the society agreed that the mortgage guarantee would be scrapped under “special circumstances’.

Roll on to 2020 and the BOE slashed rates twice in one week and I am still on that svr mortgage at 4.95% and if my mortgage was in line with what I signed up for at this current moment in time with the situation the uk has at the minute!
plus the fact I am self employed with two boys co parenting. And as it stands no government help for SELF EMPLOYED PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Now that BOE rate is .1% will Skipton Building Society remove those “special circumstances” small print and help it’s mortgage owners during this current global situation.

WHY SHOULD I PAY MORE FOR  SOMETHING I PURCHASED WITH A GUARANTEE.

Skipton Building Society PLEASE consider your valued members and the fact were in a situation where the current climate needs you too STOP BEING SO GREEDY!

Rant over..... but feel free to join me in my battle for them to grow some!

Presumably the guarantee came with some small print. So you signed up for the guarantee with the small print - you cant have part of the guarantee but not all of it.

Why not just product switch with them in order to pay less than the SVR? - https://www.skipton.co.uk/mortgages/mortgage-hub/switching-your-mortgage-deal

Why have you remained on the SVR? Other products are available.
