Mortgage Holidays - Nationwide specifically and what restrictions might there be

Hi,
My workplace in all likelihood is going to temporarily lay off a number if not all of their staff.
They advised that we speak to our mortgage providers about getting a mortgage holiday while temporarily laid off.
I appreciate that interest will be added etc but that seems to be the best of a bad situation.
I am with Nationwide and realistically there is no chance on getting through to them on the phone unless i sit on hold for an hour or two!
So i thought to ask here.
Will they offer a mortgage holiday of i am only temporarily laid off, as someone told me that if it is temporary they will not offer it.
Does the temporary aspect have any impact on their consideration?
Also, will this also apply to credit card providers?
My main concern is obviously not being able to cover bills if i am unpaid while laid off, even if it is only for 2 weeks, although it could be longer.
So is it worthwhile trying to contact each and every outgoing company and asking for a holiday or is that likely to have such an adverse affect on my credit rating that when this all passes no one will touch me with a barge pole financially!
There is so much uncertainty with this situation but i hope that those on here will be educated enough in these aspects to be able to advise.

I wouldn't worry about your credit rating. Focus on getting through these difficult financial times. Mortgage companies will allow 3 month holidays at the current time. This of course is subject to review. Credit history can be rebuilt. Survival comes first. Better to be proactive than do nothing.0

Thanks guys!
A couple of hours after posting this I got a text from Nationwide saying if i had any concerns i can apply online....they must have been listening in!!
Hopefully this all blows over before the end of next month so i have a better idea of what my finances are going to be like going forward.1
