Hi

My partner and I will be getting a house very soon!! So excited. We are going to look at using first mortgage as advisors. They have given us the basics on the process of the mortgage application.

I am just wondering from anyone’s personal experience how long does the process take? And when would we have to submit bank statements, payslips those sort of things? First mortgage mentioned we would need 3 each of these. Do banks request any more than this?
We are good mostly with money, we currently have £15000 saved between us and will increase that to £16500 next month as we are just loading our LISA. My credit rating has recently gone down due to closing a phone contract and paying it off in full and closing my car insurance to pay off in full. I also got a new phone contract as this was cheaper per month and I was having issues with my previous network provider. My score is 881, my partners is near perfect. I have always re payed everything never missed any payments and never had any black marks, same with my partner. I have a car on finance which will run out in July, I will not be buying another as we will be car sharing. And just have a credit card which I use less than 20% of per month and is paid in full every month. I have been in an arranged over draft recently again about 20-25% of as I was out of work in between  jobs over Christmas.

Would banks want me to provide more evidence and how likely would you say I would be accepted. I know that’s not a solid answer but just on experience?

thank you!
