Help to buy - authority to proceed delays

Hi, is anyone else experiencing a majorly long wait time with their help to buy application?

our mortgage broker applied for our mortgage and help to buy application on 31/01. Mortgage offer received from barclays on 19/02. Then our mortgage broker input the wrong solicitors name on our help to buy application so this had to be resubmitted on 25/02  and told we would have to wait a further 21 working days!! we asked for our application to be escalated as this was not our fault and felt we were being penalised.
It is now 16/03 and after chasing up with our mortgage broker every day we are still yet to receive the ATP!!! This is extremely unsettling for us as we have been waiting almost 2 months (even though our mortgage broker has advised us that everything on the application is satisfactory as confirmed by help to buy) i understand there are delays but just wondering what the timescale has been for others in a similar situation? As time goes by I can’t help but worry that there is a problem and we are going to be declined! I have even used the excel spreadsheet and nothing came up as red.
Our solicitors will not do any more work on our file until we have the ATP! :(

  • sounds about right.   They changed the companies in charge of H2B at the start of the year and it has been pretty hellish.  I luckily only do a few H2B cases,  I would be tearing my hair out if I was a newbuild broker
  • As someone who is a big worrier, its extremely unsettling. But surely if we’ve got the mortgage offer then there’s no reason for us to be declined the help to buy loan am i right?

The only way to be declined the H2B loan is on affordability. They don't check anything else.
The mortgage application should not be going in before the Authority to Proceed is out on the Equity Loan - why you are needing to chase it up now I don't know - I cannot see it being the deal breaker. It will come through in a few days no doubt.

Plus Dane in the North are up to date, Radian in the South is about two weeks behind. Then there's good old BPHA now in control of Midlands and London and a whole month behind.

My HTB application went in on the 25th February. Broker informed me on the 4th March that the HTB agency were processing applications submitted up to 11th February by that point. One week later (11th March), I was told they were now up to applications submitted on the 13th February. Still some way to go..

That's London for me by the way.
