Can an expert recommend a good hedge trimmer and the best stockist?

Well, I'm no expert and until this summer I've never even held a hedge-trimmer, but my Dad passed away and, at 80, Mum is too old to do the job, so I stepped in.
I expected it to be so hard to do as it's a very long and thick hedge, but I was very pleasantly surprised and dead chuffed with the results when I'd finished.
It was a Flymo Easicut with really long blades and I could recommend it to anyone.
