Was her TPS pension accrued prior to 6/4/1997? Yes she finished service in 1973 for this pension

Apologies to not be clear. My misunderstanding of the terminology. Her service history ended on 31/08/73 but she was a deferred member until last Wednesday.

There is no mention of a GMP on the TPS benefits statement, sorry. It was the title of a drop-down box on a screen grab I have, but I did not click it as I didn't understand it. Those documents are not now available on her online portal now. If anything comes in the post or pops back on screen I will post here.

Update: I phoned TPAS and HMRC and have found that it is possible to allow the monies to land and be taxed at her marginal rate, and then retrospectively apply this multi year schedule once we have more data. This was a great relief to me!

I will update as I get more clues.

Many thanks to everyone for contributing.

This pre dates the introduction of the GMP (1978).

You should check the pension increase situation with TPS.
