ARROW GLOBAL

Here's a good one for you. Got a letter out of the blue from a company called Resolvecall who have been asked by Arrow Global to collect outstanding monies (just over £4000) from a card I have never owned. This card was supposedly taken out by me in 2008 and the last correspondence with me was supposedly in 2010. It has been statue barred for 4 years. I have sent off a statue barred letter to both Resolvecall and Arrow Global that National Debtline sent me. Between sending the letters and posting this thread I have had a reply from Resolvecall stating that the account with them is now closed. Just waiting for a letter from Arrow Global now.

You are missing that the debt is still owed. They may not be able to take you to court to collect, but they can still ask you for the money in case you have a deep regret about not paying it. Usually unlikely, but if Arrow are paying someone to contact you it must work in enough cases for them to pony up the cash to Resolvecall

You didn't read it properly, I have never had this card in the first place. Apparently, it was an Asda credit or store card. It is not my debt. If Arrow wants to try and claim the money the next step will be a prove-it letter.

But you've told them its statute barred, that would infer you know about the debt, or are at least aware of its circumstances.

If the debt is not yours, the "provit" letter would have been my first response.

They were aware that it wasn't my debt, it was explained to them. They said send it off and if Arrow Global says they will be pursuing the debt then it will be time for a prove it letter. Just following their advice, that's what they are there for I assume.

Well you have a statute barred defense anyway, should they start a claim, i can see why ND told you that, its a way of disputing the debt without having to get into the nitty gritty of the debts ownership.

Any idea who was using your details ?
That would worry me more i think.

No idea, it will be interesting to see if they can produce the credit card agreement after 12 years but if do it will have a fake signature. I will then report it to Action Fraud and get a crime number

Is it safe to put the name of the company that Global Arrow (I assume bought the debt form)? The Card involved is different from the company who were chasing the debt but maybe that company owned the company whos credit card it was.

It still applies. Lots of people will state it is not theirs so expect it not to be dead yet.

it will be interesting to see if they can produce the credit card agreement after 12 years

Why would you ask for details of something you know nothing about and have nothing to do with? Technically they cannot send it to you as it is not your personal information.

You would be better to make some effort to explain to Arrow that this is not yours and it is a fraudulent debt. Otherwise it may come back.
