Watch Discount

I have been saving up for a while to treat myself to a fancy watch. When browsing in a national chain of jewellers I was offered 10% off before I had even tried the watch on, which came as a surprise to me! Since then, I've regularly seen 12-15% voucher codes available online.
I am wondering if 15% is the maximum discount that is to be found online, or could it be higher at different times in the year?
And, has anyone had any success in negotiating in store discount which are as high as the respective online voucher codes?

In today's climate, haggling is the name of the game - try starting by offering to buy with a 35% discount.0

Expensive watches will always have a significant opportunity for discounting. especially from high street store prices I haven't purchased a watch from the high street recently, but I used to regularly negotiate 15-20% discounts from bricks and mortar stores.
Some brands will discount more than others though. You will have a much harder job haggling for a discount on a Rolex (due to their vice like grip on controlling supply and demand) than you would on, say an equivalent JLC or Breitling. On less well known brands, you stand an even better chance.
Just go prepared. See what the best price is on reputable online sellers, go in, be friendly and polite and tell them you would rather give your money to them and ask them what they can do.
• The rich buy assets.
• The poor only have expenses.
• The middle class buy liabilities they think are assets.0
